Tea Time: Four Seasons London Park Lane Afternoon Tea Review

If you have followed me for a while you will know I love afternoon tea.

Every time I visit London I always try to find a new afternoon tea to experience. When it comes to luxury and iconic afternoon teas the Four Seasons Hotels always come to mind. We were lucky to experience the Four Seasons Park Lane afternoon tea during our last visit to London and I was impressed.

Thank you Four Seasons Park Lane for hosting this experience. All opinions are my own.

Compared to many of the Four Seasons lobby’s I have been to I  found this one a bit darker and not as open concept as I am used to. However, as soon as we left the lobby to enter the tea salon I felt the grand ambiance more typical of Four Seasons hotels.

Afternoon tea is hosted in the hotels salon which is next to their main restaurant. The salon is bright with shades of light blue and a gorgeous open space.

Our afternoon tea started with a choice of Champagne or Sparkling Tea. I opted for the Sparkling Rose Champagne which was a delicious start. My friend tried the sparkling tea and really enjoyed it. I’ve never tried a sparkling tea before but it was light and refreshing.

Food started off with a selection of 3 sandwiches: smoked salmon, roast chicken and hafod cheddar. I am a savory girl and sandwiches are my favorite part of afternoon tea. Although the selection of sandwiches was limited to 3 they were all delicious. You are also able to order more sandwiches. My favorite sandwich was the cheddar sandwich. The filling had the consistency of an egg salad sandwich, it was creamy and delightful.

The scones were perfectly light and flakey. The scones themselves were not too sweet and paired perfectly with the provided jams.

For the sweets we had marble cake, vanilla caramel cookie, mini baba, apple coriander tartlet, jafa cake and a pavlova. I LOVE pavlova so this was my favorite treat followed by the caramel cookie. It is honestly hard to say which dessert was best because they were all delicious. Usually by the time I get to dessert at afternoon tea I am way too full and find the sweets a bit overwhelming. These desserts were perfectly sized and not too heavy making them the perfect ending to tea.

Overall I would definitely recommend afternoon tea at the Four Seasons Park Lane. While this may not be one of the more famous Tea’s in London the food was delicious and the service impeccable.

If you have a favorite afternoon tea in London please share it with me in the comments!
